Santa's Helpers - Enjoy Your Kids

This is the time of the year when everything is rush rush rush.
I wanted to share a story with you.

Last weekend, I took time out from all my volunteer duties and regular house duties to make a gingerbread house with my foster daughter - soon to be adopted daughter.

We had a great time putting that house together. Half way through - she said to me "this is the first time you and I have made a gingerbread house together". In fact, Michelle, Ron and I have experienced a lot of firsts in the last three years. I realized that she just enjoyed having me to herself for those few hours. We were able to chit chat about all her worries, her school drama and we talked about Christmas plans.

So the morale is - never say you can't give your kid a Christmas gift. You can!!!

Give them the gift of yourself and your time. Spend TIME with them :)
